Hi everyone!
It's been a while since the last news update for Kingdom Inc. Not that I've been sitting still; most of my attention has been focused on getting the game finished. It's getting close, but we're not quite there yet.
A lot of the endgame content still needs more fleshing out, as well as a final plan for the game's "Beyond the end of the game" Prestige system. It's been a lot of fun working things out, and I can't wait to share more with you all as the game's release draws closer! For now, you'll have to make do with a few sneak previews at the bottom of this page.
Release Date announcement
And yeah, about the game's release. I was originally planning for a release date at the end of September, and while that's probably still possible, I don't see any reason to rush myself into sticking to that plan. I would rather spend some more time on polish, testing, and balancing instead of running the risk of releasing the game slightly undercooked. I hope that makes sense to you all!
Therefore, the release date will be on the 29th of October, 2026. This also neatly coincides with the 2nd anniversary of Widget Inc., so it'll be a double celebration!
Upcoming Beta test
Some time in September I will be opening up a closed beta test to make sure the game is ready for release. I'm still working out the details, so keep an eye on this page or join my Discord if you want to stay informed!
Sneak Preview
Of course, I can't just post a bunch of text and expect you to read it. So here's a few of the things I've been working on!
One frequent criticism so far is that the game's graphics didn't really stand out in terms of details and colors. I fully agree, so I've been adding more visual flair to the game, as well as overhauling most item icons and characters. It's already getting a lot more lively!

And, of course, as the game progresses you unlock new toys to play with. Not only the Jewelcrafter shown below, but also new tools to help you organize your workflow like Portals, the Armory, and new workflow sheets to separate your designs into their component parts and keep them manageable.

Lastly, most crafting and resource nodes can now be stacked up to five times to multiply their effect without taking up more space. That should help simplify even the most convoluted workflow into its component parts.

That's it for now!
Thanks for reading! I hope you're all looking forward to the game's release at the end of October. And keep an eye on this space if you're interested in the upcoming beta test!
Cheers,
Tom
