What's New?
The Pill Bug
The Pill Bug is a new enemy, who will bunker down and pellet you with projectiles. While bunkered it is resistant to damage, but stick around them a few seconds to scare them into un-deploying! They were designed to make sticking within a region tougher, and to push you to attack the medium range harassers.
The Astral Gates
The Astral Gate is a tear in the membrane of the lab. Approach them and activate them to summon bosses early, a quick source of XP and Stars for those confident in taking them on!
The Upgrades Indicator
I've noticed some players confused on a first play, so I've added an indicator to the top middle of the screen which appears when you have upgrades available, pointing to the upgrade pad.
What's Changed?
Big Rebalancing
Your base tank is now faster with a higher fire rate and less recoil
Your main gun damage scales a little bit less
Your base upgrades are slightly improved
The Tumblebot (The Barrel looking one) now explodes when approached
The Wheelers are now more accurate and better at pathing to you
Fixes
The projectiles no longer jitter around when above 75fps
The Menace Boss (The Dog looking one) now aims at you properly and drops mines more often
The Starship Boss no longer slingshots around erratically and will pursue you when you are not in range of its guns.
The Biotitan Boss is now faster and more aggressive
The Tentacles are now easier to spot with a unique boss icon
What's Next?
Plans
I have 2 new bosses in the works
I have 1 new enemy in the works
I have a new events mechanic in the works to make each game more unique
I am planning, but have not yet started work on map variation
I want to add more things to do around the map
I want to add more achievements
I have an alternate game mode planned, but this may be a longer term goal, more news on this one when I have something to show you
Casual Update
I'm going to start putting a casual footer like this in the update notes. I'm new to publishing my own titles so I'm still learning how to make what's engaging for the players, what makes not only the game itself fun, but the things around it, the updates, the communication, the replays, etc.
So this is the first of the regular updates. I'm working on another title at the moment so these will likely be once every 2-6 weeks until the game is in its most fun and complete state. I want these updates to be a mix of improvements in performance, quality of life, and extending the contents of the game to make replay-ability a greater factor.
I hope you enjoy,
Scott,
