Phase One update has been released!
Players can finally get their hands on the new Moonbase level and play around with our shiny new character customization system: "GET FABULOUS!"
If you're a new player and just starting out in Squids from Space, you'll start out as either Squid or Humans with a base set of gear, skins, and color swatches. As you play, you will gain experience points for every round you complete. The more experience you collect, the more you will level up and unlock even more ways to create original personalized and unique Human avatars, Squid tanks, Squid Soldiers, Squid Bowls, and more!
Here's a list of some of the major releases TODAY, with unlockable milestones you'll hit as you battle online:
At level 1 you can Get Fabulous, with a base set editable character features for both Human and Squids!
When you reach level 10 you'll see items like:
- New hats and sunglasses!
- Master Sergeant rank title!
Reaching Level 20 makes you an Early Access Contributor! You'll see items like:
- Sweet skins for your weapons, like Cobalt Blue or Hot Pink!
- Early Access Contributor title!
When you reach level 35 you'll see items like:
- Astronaut gear set for humans!
- Lieutenant rank title!
The mighty players who reach Level 75 will get access to:
- The kickass Warmaster Crawler Tank gear set!
- Commander rank title!
And if you are among the few who reach Level 101, you will become an Early Access Veteran! You'll see rare items like:
- Rare skins for your weapons like Golden, Diamond, and the Squid-tech
- Transparent set!
- Early Access Veteran title!
This is just a small sampling of the exciting in-game gear and customizations that are coming to Squids from Space. As you continue to battle online and level up, you will continue to unlock even more weapon sets, unique gear items, content, and colors. We will even be releasing some limited edition gear, titles and customizations JUST for our Early Access players. As the game continues to grow, we are excited to see our community explore, design, and build custom team sets for #TeamHuman military soldiers and #TeamSquid alien invaders.
If you see a weapon during a game that someone else has unlocked and you'd like to try it, you can always exterminate them and steal their weapon. You will be able to enjoy using and playing with any "locked" weapon on the battlefield for as long as you can survive during that round.
We are delivering a large amount of content with this update and we can't wait to see what kind of crazy and unique looks our community creates with in the upcoming weeks. We're also interested to hear from YOU, in terms of what new items, gear sets, colors, and objects you'd like to see in our next update. Known Issues:
- Get Fabulous is best used with mouse/keyboard. Controller is functional, but needs some tweaking, improvement and bug fixes.
- We have a cheeky crash that we're currently hunting down, however let us know if you see a lot more crashes than last update.
- We have a lot of optimizations ahead of us, so any lag over 150+ ping and you may experience jittery gameplay
- Map rotation has been disabled at this time. We have a desync bug that has returned. We are investigating it now and will provide a hotfix ASAP.
