Oops, forgot to post this last weekend. WolfQuest is now available for Android! Get it on:
* Google Play Store
* Amazon App Store
As with the Mac/Windows game, you can download Amethyst Mountain for free, where you can explore Yellowstone's wilderness, hunt elk, communicate with other wolves, and find a mate. Then purchase the full game (US$3.99) to unlock the rest of the game missions and maps:
* Slough Creek map, where you find a den, establish a territory, and raise pups.
* Co-op multiplayer
* Lost River map
* Player account with achievements, in-game messaging, friends, and packs.
This is the complete game, exactly the same as the Mac/Windows version, except that the 3D environments are lower quality due to the lesser power of mobile devices.
The mobile game uses the same accounts as the Mac/Windows game, so if you already have an account, you can simply purchase the mobile version and log into your account, then click "Pull Files from Server" to sync up all your game data.
Extra wolf customizations are also available as additional in-app purchases.
* US $2.99 for Wolf Coats.
* US $2.99 for Wolf Bodies.
* US $4.99 for Combo Pack with all coats and bodies.
One caution: There's an enormous variety of Android devices out there, and unfortunately a good number of them aren't powerful enough to run the game decently. It's hard to say in advance if a particular device will be capable enough, because there are so many CPU and GPUs out there. And Android phones and tablets tend to be lower-priced than iPhones and iPads, which means they have lower-power components.
So: Please try it out for free first before you buy the complete game. If Amethyst Mountain map runs smoothly, then the rest should be good.
Also, some Android phones (especially older ones) have a particular low-power graphics card that can't render the terrains properly, so certain areas are very pixellated, alas. Changing the quality level won't fix that, alas. It's just due to the limited capabilities of that graphics card.
