Demo Update Available Now
Hi everyone,
we have released a new update for the Liminal Backrooms demo.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has played the demo, shared feedback, posted videos, reported issues or simply added the demo to their Steam library.
Your feedback has already helped us understand what needed to be improved, especially in the introductory offshore platform section.
What changed in this update
Improved platform lighting
We increased the lighting and readability on the offshore platform.
The goal is to keep the atmosphere dark and tense, while making navigation, objectives and interactable objects easier to understand.
Faster platform flow
We reduced the number of valves in the platform section to make the introductory flow faster and less repetitive.
The platform is still designed as the first tutorial area of the demo, but it should now feel clearer and more direct.
Improved valve feedback
Valves now have clearer audio and visual feedback.
Before interaction, valves have gas leak sounds and smoke to make them easier to notice. After interaction, the smoke and gas feedback are removed.
Lever puzzle feedback
We improved the lever sequence puzzle with clearer beep feedback for each light.
If the order is wrong, the lever now returns to its original position and the sequence restarts, making the mistake easier to understand.
NO SIGNAL feedback
We added a short NO SIGNAL feedback effect when entities reach the player.
This should make entity contact feel clearer and more consistent with the game’s visual identity.
New language support
The demo now also supports additional languages:
Japanese
Chinese
French
Russian
German
We want to make the demo more accessible to players from different regions, and we will continue improving the experience based on player feedback.
Keep sending us feedback
This is still our first public demo, and we are continuing to improve it step by step.
If you try the updated version, we would love to know what you think:
Is the platform section clearer now?
Are the objectives easier to follow?
Is the lighting more readable?
Do the valves and levers feel better?
Does the NO SIGNAL feedback make entity contact clearer?
Did you notice any bugs or confusing moments?
Good or bad feedback is welcome.
Thank you again for playing and supporting Liminal Backrooms.
