Hello, writers!
This update includes several quality-of-life features suggested by you. We hope these changes make the game a little smoother and more enjoyable to play!
Quality-of-Life Improvements
1. Easier Skin Collection After Completing a Rarity Tier
Many players pointed out that, surprisingly, Legendary skins can sometimes be easier to collect than Rare skins.
When a Legendary book sells more than 1,000 copies, you can claim a reward that gives you a Legendary skin. Previously, once you had collected every Legendary skin, these rewards would simply start giving you duplicates.
Now, if you have already collected every skin in that rarity tier, the reward will instead give you an unowned skin from a lower rarity tier, as long as one is still available.
This should make it much easier to work toward completing your entire skin collection.
2. Delete Books from Book History
You can now delete books from your Book History.
This gives you more control over which books you want to keep in your collection and which ones you would rather remove.
3. Sell All Furniture and Decorations at Full Price
We’ve added an option to sell all furniture and decorations in a bookstore at their original purchase price.
This is designed for players who want to completely redecorate a bookstore without having to remove every item one by one or lose money in the process.
4. Keyboard-Only Input Counting
In the Typing Settings menu, you can now choose to count keyboard input only.
When this option is enabled, mouse clicks will no longer increase your input count.
For players who use Idle Bookstore while writing or working, this should make the typing count feel more representative of your actual writing.
5. Option to Launch the Game as Administrator
We’ve also added an option in the Typing Settings menu to launch the game in Administrator mode.
For some players, input counting may stop working while another full-screen application or game is active. Running Idle Bookstore as administrator may help in some of these cases.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where overwriting an existing save file did not immediately update the save file display, making it look like the overwrite had failed.
What We’re Looking Into Next
Thank you again for all the feedback and suggestions. We’ll continue paying close attention to what you share with us and use it to improve the game.
We’re currently looking into a possible Writing Mode for players who want to focus on writing or other work without being distracted by managing the bookstore.
We’re still thinking through how this mode should work, so if you have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know!
Thank you for supporting Idle Bookstore! ❤️
