Hi, everyone!
Our Day 1 patch is here, with a few improvements based directly on your feedback, along with several bug fixes.
Thank you to everyone who has been reporting issues and sharing suggestions since launch. It’s already helping us improve the game a lot.
New Features
1. Option to Disable Auto-Typing
Currently, if you stop typing for a while, your desktop companion will fall asleep and begin auto-typing. This feature was designed to help you continue making progress while you’re away from the keyboard.
However, many players use Idle Bookstore to track how much they type during a writing or work session. In that case, auto-typing can make the final typing count inaccurate.
You can now disable Auto-Typing from the Settings menu if you want your typing count to only reflect your own input.
2. Ask Librarians to Stop Stocking Books
Some players pointed out that Librarians can occasionally stock books faster than they are sold.
When this happens, the shelves can remain full, making it difficult for players to manually stock books themselves.
We’ve now added an option to ask Librarians to take a break from stocking, giving you more control over how you manage your bookstore.
Balance Changes
Pet Poop Rate Reduced
A number of players told us that pets were producing poop too frequently, which meant having to return and clean up more often than intended.
We’ve now reduced the poop generation rate by 10x.
We also found that pets in background bookstores could sometimes generate more poop than pets in the currently active bookstore. We’ve made adjustments to address this imbalance as well.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the Mobel Award menu could repeatedly close itself while viewing books.
Fixed several achievements that could fail to unlock, particularly when loading a save file from the Idle Bookstore Demo.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer where changes to a book’s profit setting in one bookstore were sometimes not reflected in other bookstores.
The Books on Sale menu no longer displays book features, as they could cover the buttons used to adjust profit.
Fixed several internal errors reported through the game logs.
Improved the display of Chinese characters with different character widths and sizes.
Thank you again for all the feedback and bug reports.
We’re continuing to keep an eye on what everyone is experiencing and will keep improving Idle Bookstore based on your feedback. ❤️
