My hands are still shaking as I write this. When I first started building ALATURKA live on stream, I thought it might be too "weird" or "janky" for the world to notice. I have zero marketing budget. I am just a solo developer building my childhood dream in my free time, using 100% Unreal Engine Blueprints.
But today, we just crossed 10,000 Wishlists on Steam! 😭
To every single one of you who clicked that wishlist button, shared the game with a friend, or tuned into my livestreams to watch me forget how to be a game developer: Thank you. You are making this dream a reality.
And if that wasn't crazy enough, the 1970s Bosforus chaos has been spreading across the internet this month!
🔥 The Hype is Real
I am incredibly honored to announce that ALATURKA has recently been featured by some of the biggest names in the industry:
🎮 Alpha Beta Gamer: One of my absolute favorite indie curators featured our chaotic 1970s streets, bringing so many new players into our community.
🛠️ 80 Level: The legendary 80 Level team did a feature on my insane "100% Blueprint" and zero-C++ workflow, showcasing how I'm building this city completely solo.
🏃♂️ Cascadeur Indie Spotlight: The amazing folks at Cascadeur featured ALATURKA as a case study, highlighting my animation process and raw retro aesthetic!
🚧 What’s Next?
Seeing this massive wave of support gives me an unbelievable amount of energy. I am currently back in the engine, working harder than ever to optimize the vehicle physics, expand the city, and polish the core gameplay loop.
My next major goal is to prepare the very first playable demo / playtest build so you can finally experience the heavy PS2-era driving for yourselves.
As always, I am building this entire game live on stream. If you want to see how an open-world game is made from scratch, ask questions, or just watch my game engine crash in real-time, come join the family!
