If you want to try the new 1.2 update early use the experimental build of the game.
it completely overhauls scoring with the new "Quota" mechanic - You must make a certain amount of money by the end of each act, or you die. After each act, your money is reset to $0, so hoarding is not optimal.
1.2 also adds:
1 Tag - Ablaze (Changes all bosses to The Inferno on round start) - Uncommon - $23
1 Boss - The Tower (Must full clear large grid) - 9x9 - Act 3+
2 Challenges
Home Station - Start with Eternal Train Map and Eternal Locomotive Tags. - Banned Tags: Train Map, Locomotive
Cultists - Start with Eternal Fossil and Two Zealot Tags
2 Passes
Hadron Collider - Ephemeral Blocks may appear in shop
Elephant Foot - Ephemeral Blocks are free in shop
1 Frame
Eternal - Tags with this frame cannot be sold or destroyed. - It only appears in challenge runs where you start with tags with this frame. It cannot be obtained otherwise.
Have Fun! 1.2 WILL get more work, but this release is to get a better feel for what you all think of the game.
PS: If you are having trouble getting achievements try pressing the 9 and 0 keys at the same time in the main menu - it should fix that way.
