Dydh da all! I hope everyone has had a fantastic end to 2025, and an even better start to 2026! We wanted to once again thank everyone for your continued support! With your help we can spread our love for retro-shooters and our home far and wide. Previously BRINE was a solo project and a dream, but now it is an established IP people are looking forward to, how bizarre! The 25 Days of BRINEmas: An end of Year Roundup!
What a way to end the year! We spent December counting down the days in our digital BRINEmas advent calendar. Each drawer showcased a different area of development, from behind-the-scenes concept art to massive announcements. In case you missed any of the daily festivities, here is the "Dreckly digest" summary of the 25 days.
Major Announcements
NEW ENEMIES
The biggest and baddest news of the month was the introduction of two new enemies, the crime-adoring Spurdog and the menacing Thresher Shark.
With this announcement also came the reveal of the voice actor for the Thresher Shark, who is none-other than the legendary John Whinfield! Having John on the team is beyond exciting, we were all long-time fans beforehand, so it feels incredible for him to join the project!
A NEW GUN?
BRINE's arsenal is all but conventional, you've already seen the Nail Gun and the Fry Thrower, but now get ready for The Gull Foot!
Featuring three barrels of buckshot, this pirate-inspired weapon is sure to reduce even the largest enemies to Swiss cheese.
Primary Fire: A widespread volley of bullets.
Alt-Fire: Unloads all three barrels simultaneously, sending bullets ricocheting all over the plaice (pardon the pun).
You can also spot brand new UI in these clips, how exciting!
THE FIRST PREVIEW OF LEVEL 2...
Level 2’s setting is no secret: the Fisherman will be battling his way through Bleddy Bargains, the town’s local mega-shop. As you can imagine, this shop stocks just about everything, so we’ve had a lot of fun playing around with ideas.
An early look at "The Rug Room"
Some other very early concepts from June...
AND MUCH, MUCH MORE...
