Vietnam Patch 1.05 Community Test Build: Patch Notes
Patch 1.05 Introduces the Australian Forces to the game, complete with:
New Weapons
- L1A1 SLR - This 7.62 NATO semi-automatic battle is the backbone of the Australian Army’s arsenal, and can be selected by the grunt class along with the M16
- L2A1 LMG - A heavy-barrel, fully automatic variant of the L1A1 used by machine gunners - complete with a bipod and fire-select for semi-auto precision aiming
- Owen Submachine Gun - A gravity-assisted 9mm machine carbine, first brought into service during World War 2, still used by troops on the ground in Vietnam
- F1 Submachine Gun - A 9mm submachine gun, similar to the British Sterling submachine gun, with semi and full automatic fire modes and a detachable bayonet
- Browning Hi-Power pistol - A semi-automatic 9mm pistol with a 13-round magazine
Please note that in the current build, animation, audio and especially art for these weapons is a work-in-progress and does not represent final quality.
New player customization options
- New faces
- Tattoos
- Uniforms
- Gear
- Tunics
- Helmet
- Shirt options for both pilot and infantry
New Vehicle
- The Huey ‘Bushranger’ attack helicopter for Australian pilots, complete with FFAR rockets for the pilot, adjustable miniguns for the co-pilot and dual M60 door guns.
New Maps
- Three new maps for the Australian Forces to fight on:
Long Tan
A territory map in which the NLF attack a defensive position set up in a rubber plantation, at night and in the rain.
Rung Sac
A Territory map in marshland culminating in a battle at an old Indochina-era fortress
Operation Forrest
A large-scale supremacy battle taking place in swamps and farmland, featuring the longest engagement distances in the game.
Please note, these maps are in an early Alpha state, and are not representative of final quality - most areas have not been dressed, and at this stage we are looking primarily for gameplay feedback so that we can lock down design and begin art passes.
New Commander Ability
The Canberra Bomber
An all-new commander ability for Australian Forces, which calls in two English Electric Canberra bombers to carpet bomb an area along a set path. Using a new UI feature, the Commander can direct the trajectory at which the bombers will drop their payload, affecting the area of the strike. This feature can also be used to direct the trajectory of the Canberra Bomber.
3D VoIP Communications
Included in the Community Testing Branch for the Bushranger Content Update is an early version of our upcoming Local voice chat channel. You can access this channel by cycling through your existing voice channels until it reads ‘3D Proximity’. We are very interested in feedback on this feature, specifically around volume and when players feel they should be able to hear other players.
