Hi Everyone!
Steam Next Fest has officially come to a close, and honestly? My head is still spinning.
Thank you. To everyone who downloaded the demo, wishlisted, or even just kept an eye on the project—thank you for giving Genetica a chance. Launching a first public wave of playtests is always nerve-wracking, but seeing the community jump in headfirst was the best reward I could ask for.
The Numbers are In!
It was an absolute thrill to watch the activity spikes in real-time. You all stayed busy:
300+ Matches Played: From tactical triumphs to experimental disasters, the arena was non-stop.
74 Legends: A huge shoutout to the 74 players who fought their way onto the leaderboards.
Your energy during the festival has been a massive morale boost for the development process. Check out the full hall of fame in the GIF below! Did you spot your name?
What’s Next for Genetica?
The festival might be over, but work on Genetica is just hitting high gear. I’m currently processing all the data and feedback gathered to make the game even tighter and more chaotic (in the best way possible).
Coming soon:
The Big One: Work on Multiplayer is underway. Soon, you won't just be fighting the leaderboard—you'll be facing each other.
Major Content Updates: New species and environmental stressors.
Thank you for being part of this journey from the very start. Stay tuned for more updates, and if you haven't yet, don't forget to add the game to your Wishlist!
