Hi everyone!
The Glue Blocks demo is out for Next Fest! It includes quite a few modes for you to try out. The main new mechanic of glue blocks is the ability to glue blocks to create your own deck of shapes.
You can do this with any conjoined blocks that you have placed, but be careful, there are some rules:
Some modes require you to fill your deck up first. This means no line will clear until your deck is full. You will get a background effect and jingle when your deck is full, and see it in the side panel as well, for example Deck 2/7 means you glued 2 shapes so far out of 7.
All modes have some limit on how big your glued cluster can be. Monster mode comes with a giant well and a much larger limit than classic, for example!
Glued pieces are worth more than regular ones. So the more you use glued pieces to clear lines, the more you score. The amount of lines, amount of glued pieces in a total clear count towards your score - and it's exponential! The more glued pieces, the bigger the multiplier. But be careful - gluing big pieces together easy, but surviving after might not be. :)
Glue Blocks comes with wells in all shapes and sizes, and different gravity as well. In some modes you need to clear a whole perimeter of a well, or counter, to clear a line (Such as in omni-well). In others, simple have different pockets to fill. Any mode with multiple gravity zones will have a safe starting area where you can choose to commit to a direction. This is a preview build, not the final product. Any feedback is welcome! Happy gluing!
