v0.8.9 Demo Patch Notes
LEADERBOARDS

The leaderboard has been rebuilt from the ground up. It now has its own tab in the pause menu, and boards rank by the furthest round reached.
Meet Weekly Leaderboards! Every week from Monday to Monday gets a board of its own, and you can flip back through past weeks or peek at the one coming up.
Added a Friends Leaderboard: see how your friends did in the global leaderboard!
Added My Weeks, a history of how you did in every week you played. Click any player's row to see their weeks too.
Runs now go up on the leaderboards while you play. Every round you win is updated the moment you win it and marked LIVE, so you can watch each other climb. The SHOW LIVE box turns this feature off.
A YOUR RANK panel next to the table shows where you stand and your best rank.
This new leaderboards are a highly experimental feature we'll be testing for the Demo version of Please, Spin. Expect things to change, especially in the first few weeks. Have fun clashing!
Please remember that only the runs started in the new v0.8.9 update and future can qualify for weekly leaderboards.
ACCESSIBILITY

Added an Accessibility menu, in Settings and on the first-launch screen, with Reduced Flashing, Reduced Motion, Text Wobble, Controller Rumble, Heartbeat Sound and Visual Noise. Everything is set to how the game has always been until you change it.
GAMEPLAY
From stage 10 on, every round is a boss round. Each round rolls its own boss, never the same one as the round before, and the host's card lists all four rounds with their boss.
Endless targets now climb faster and faster with every stage.
Legendary tiles now show up faster as a run goes on, and Rare tiles a bit slower.
Wheel edits can no longer offer Rare tiles before stage 2 or Legendary tiles before stage 3.
Respin Tiles now give one respin per round.
Fixed a bug where the Rewind Tiles didn't trigger retriggers.
Fixed a bug where Relic trigger timings were off.
Fixed a bug where in some conditions flappers could end up hanging backwards and hitting nothing for the rest of the session.
Pizza Box now rolls its 50% chance for +1 Flapper on every spin instead of once per round.
Rusty Flapper now breaks after 5 spins instead of 4 rounds.
Ventilator now has a 15% chance to give +1 Spin on every spin, instead of a spin every 5 spins. Lucky Clover doubles it like the others.
Solar Clock now triggers a random flapper for every 3 flappers you have, instead of every 2.
Pyramid now rolls its 6.66% only on a Retrigger tile's first trigger of the spin, so a tile with more retriggers no longer gets more rolls.
Yin Yang is now Legendary.
Packaged Box is now called Remote and has a new model.
Coupon's free reroll no longer costs you next round's. It used to pay out only every other round.
Polaroids are now saved with your run. Quitting mid-run used to lose every Polaroid you owned and everything the applied ones gave you.
A used Respin Tile stays used when you resume a run, and a Multiplier Tile's Polaroid bonus is saved with the run and taken back off when you restart.
Fixed a bug where in some cases restarting a game would show the old run's wheel.
Relics you have owned in any run now stay on the TV's catalogue after you sell them.
Fixed a bug where an INFINITY score couldn't beat an INFINITY target during The Taxman's round.
The game over sequence is shorter after your first death. The press, the cry and the host's lines keep their pace.
Landing exactly on the target score is now a JACKPOT that gives you an extra coin.
Time spent in the pause menu no longer counts toward your run time, on the end screen or on the leaderboards.
A run resumed from a save made before this update keeps its place on the all-time board, but doesn't enter a weekly one; the weekly boards are for runs started from now on.
GRAPHICS
Relics on the TV and tiles on the edit cards are now their real 3D models, turning in place, instead of flat pictures.
The camera cuts on the tour between rounds (the coins, the stand, the market) are smoother.
Fixed the ghost relics above the market snapping up or down for a frame whenever a relic was bought or sold.
Improved texture compression and quality for better performance.
UI
The pause menu is brand new. Tabs across the top, GAME, SETTINGS, LEADERBOARD and CREDITS, switched with the arrows at the ends of the row, Q and E, or a controller's bumpers. A couple of tabs are locked with a ??? and a PLEASE STAND BY card: they will be in the full game.
The GAME tab shows this run: your stage, round and coins above CONTINUE, the run's figures (spins, rerolls, relics, coins, best scores, time) on one side and the stage prizes you have been given on the other.
Settings is now split into GENERAL, SOUND and ACCESSIBILITY.
The relic and tile description box now fits its words. It used to keep the last relic's height, so a two-line name ended up in a one-line box with the rarity over the words.
Fixed the UNLOCK BY label on the TV going missing for every relic you looked at after one with no requirement.
The coin counter now widens for big numbers instead of squashing them.
The reroll's price tag now reads FREE while Coupon has one banked for you.
Updated Death stats screen.
WISHLIST NOW button opens the store page inside the Steam overlay instead of your browser.
The two of us are tagged DEVELOPER on the leaderboards, so you know who to blame.
Turning the sound effects down now turns the menu's sounds down with them. They used to stay at the old level until you relaunched.
AUDIO
Updated general click & hover and wheel edit, hover & pick sounds.
Fixed a bug where the mentioned sounds result in some corrupted SFX playing unintentionally.
MISC
Your Steam friends list now shows your stage and round in Endless too, instead of just the round.
Added Steam Input support. Any controller Steam knows works, the bindings you set up in Steam's controller settings are the ones the game uses, and the game pauses itself the moment your controller disconnects.
Fixed a memory leak: tiles and score popups never let go of their materials. Thanks Ravenleft and Racer26 for reporting this issue!
Fixed a few Steam Input related bugs.
Fixed two of the host's lines using an apostrophe the font can't draw.
See you in the next update, Contestants.
