A new update is live with a mix of accessibility improvements, visual feedback, and some under-the-hood groundwork for the future.
Important note: this update will wipe save data. Apologies for the inconvenience, this was necessary due to some structural changes. Hopefully the last wipe before early access launches in a few weeks!
New: Novice Mode
Novice Mode is a new beginner-friendly option designed for players who want to ease into the game.
Uses just one button
Great for learning timing, rhythm, and flow
High scores are not saved in this mode
This is meant as a low-pressure entry point before moving on to Amateur or Pro.
There's a new 4th difficulty option selectable in the song selection.

The new Novice Mode notes allow the player to press ANY button! You'll still have to hold the notes for the tail length but this simplified mode is great for getting your feet wet and building up your rhythm chops!

New: Combo Meter (visual only for now)
A new combo meter has been added to highlight note streaks:
Build a streak by hitting notes consecutively
10 notes in a row = max combo
Currently visual only and does not affect score
Combo mechanics will play a bigger role in scoring later on, for now this is purely feedback and flair.
UI fixes for all screen ratios
The UI has been updated to better support non-16:9 displays.
The game should now behave correctly across a wide range of resolutions and aspect ratios.
Online multiplayer groundwork
Some early online multiplayer systems are now in place under the hood.
There’s nothing player-facing yet, this update is about laying the foundation so future online features can be added more smoothly.
As always, thanks for playing the demo and sharing feedback. If you notice anything odd after the update, please let me know in Discussions or Discord.
