Happy holidays! I wanted to give everyone checking out the demo a small seasonal treat, so today’s update adds a brand new Christmas track to the demo, completely free!
This new song was arranged specifically to take advantage of the new ornament note system, which makes fast runs, trills, and grace clusters playable while still sounding authentic.
What’s new
New Christmas track (demo + main branch)
Fully ornament-aware arrangement, expect fun, fast passages that now play smoothly thanks to the new system
Minor improvements based on early testing of ornaments
Ornament Notes reminder
Ornaments convert ultra-fast sequences into:
ornament holds (slightly different visual than normal holds)
or single-press grace notes when appropriate
This makes previously impossible sections playable without losing the musicality of the original MIDI.
Thank you
This was a fun piece to put together, and I hope it adds some holiday cheer to the demo.
If you try the new track, I’d love feedback, especially on how the ornament system feels with more complex passages.
Happy holidays, and thanks so much for supporting Tomo Jam!
