We are currently working on official gamepad support for the demo version.
The following features have been completed so far.

UI control using a gamepad
Combat control using a gamepad
Gamepad key bindings (key settings)
We are currently conducting final testing and stabilization work. If no issues arise, these features will be applied via a future demo update.
