🔴 Pizza Syndicate – The Future of the Project & Community Rebuild
Hello everyone,
First of all, we want to thank everyone who has supported Pizza Syndicate over the past months. The amount of messages, discussions, ideas and encouragement from the community has genuinely meant a lot to us. ❤️
Seeing that so many players still care about this classic has reinforced our belief that this project deserves another chance.
Today, we want to share where things currently stand and what the future direction of the project will be.
⚖️ IP Situation – Current Status
Over the past two years, we have made extensive efforts to identify and contact the current IP rights holders of the original Pizza Syndicate.
This included:
More than 100+ emails sent to potential rights holders and related companies
Attempts to reach publishers and studios connected to the original release
Working with legal professionals to help trace ownership
Unfortunately, despite these efforts, we have still been unable to confirm or reach the current IP holder.
After investing significant time into this process, we have concluded that the uncertainty surrounding the original IP cannot continue to be the foundation of the project.
We will continue occasional efforts to trace ownership in the background, but it is no longer a dependency for moving forward.
🚫 Steam Next Fest Update
As shared in our previous announcement, we had to opt out of Steam Next Fest in February despite having:
A fully working demo
Prepared marketing materials
A planned showcase
This decision was made because we could not confidently proceed while the IP situation remained unresolved.
🔄 The Future: A Complete Rebuild
The most viable path forward is now a complete rebuild of the game as a fully original project.
This means creating:
🍕 A new identity and original IP
🎨 New visuals, assets, and presentation
🎵 New audio and music direction
🖥️ Modern UI, performance improvements, and accessibility
🏢 Expanded management and simulation systems
💬 Community-driven improvements and features
However, this does not mean abandoning what made the original special.
Our goal is to preserve the core gameplay experience, atmosphere, and charm that players remember, while giving it the foundation needed to exist as a modern game.

A rebuild gives us the opportunity to go beyond simply recreating the past.
We want to explore:
Deeper restaurant management
Improved staff and business systems
Better user experience
Modern quality-of-life improvements
More languages and accessibility
Features inspired by community suggestions
The goal is not just to bring back a classic.
The goal is to create the game many fans always hoped it could become.
💰 Development & Community Support
A project of this scope represents a significant development effort for a small independent studio.
While we have the experience and ability to develop and release commercial games, a complete rebuild of Pizza Syndicate is a project that we cannot realistically undertake without strong community support behind it.
This is why, before starting full production or launching any crowdfunding campaign, we first want to understand whether there is enough interest from the community to make this project possible.
Our goal is not simply to create a crowdfunding campaign.
Our goal is to build a project that has a strong foundation of players who genuinely want to see it happen and be part of its journey.
If enough interest and support exists, we will move forward with the next steps, including defining the development scope, funding approach, and roadmap together with the community.
We are confident in our ability to deliver based on our previous releases and experience shipping commercial games across multiple platforms.
