A while ago, we teased something that looked like The Wall of Flesh pursuing our spirits on an empty map. It’s actually tied to our story, and it looks more like this now:
[Alt text: The picture shows a generic game scene preview, set on a spooky map colored in dimmed purple tones. A wall of black smoke and mist moves from left to right, and at its player-facing end, dark hand-like tendrils rhytmically grab the air ahead.]
We’ve been working on a couple of special levels that will highlight certain important story points with the presence of... This thing. So brace yourselves for a more spooky vibe!
We’re also giving more attention to our major side characters, The Heart and The Soul of The Forest. They're the reason our spirit protagonists have awakened, and we stumble upon the effects of their struggle as the story goes. How much can you tell about them just from the concept art?
[Alt text: Two raw pieces of concept art display a lineout of tall characters. One resembles a sea angel slug with a bud-like crest hovering over its head. it has a heart-shaped head and delicate wing-like frills near the bottom. The other character has a larger head with ruffles and spikes, and two spiked limbs hanging down. It's inspired by the bluebottle jellyfish.]
With the winter holiday season right at the corner, we’re posting a mini series of short story teasers on our social media. They'll feature these bad guys, so stay tuned!
We wish everyone a quiet Holiday time, and a lot of fun playing relaxing games!
