Hello scavengers, sellers, hagglers, and totally-not-trash-divers.
We’re getting closer to releasing Pawnbroker Simulator. As we finish up the details, clean up the shop, and try to keep Uncle Barry in line for the voice lines, we’ve also added some exciting new systems you’ll be able to try soon. Let’s dive in.
What’s Been Transformed
Improved Synergy Preview
Placing items for synergy is now much smarter. When you’re positioning an item, you’ll now see:
Which types are creating synergy
How many synergy points are shared
Exactly where your display magic is coming from
It’s now easier, quicker, and more satisfying to build themed layouts.
A Scavenging System
Your Secret Shame
Yes, you can now rummage through dumpsters, doorsteps, trash cans, and even parks, all hoping to find the next treasure for your shop.
“If you ever resell a dumpster TV for 300 bucks, don’t tell anyone where you found it. Some secrets die with us.” ~Uncle Barry
This system adds a new routine to your day. Step outside, search for discarded gems, bring them back, and hope no one saw you.
Spotlight Feature
Scavenging
It’s rough. It’s raw. It’s real. It also brings a new survival challenge to pawnbroking. Explore the neighborhood. Check every bin. Evaluate every thrown-away object. Whether you use it as a side hustle or your main way to get items, we won’t judge (Not out loud).
New Stores in Town
The world is expanding, and two new shops are now open for business:
Janpol Repairs
Lockmaster
You’ll have more places to visit, more services to use, and more reasons to step out of your dusty shop.
Pause the Haggle
Forgot to examine the item mid-negotiation? You can now pause a haggle, quickly check the item, and return to the deal more thoughtful and more prepared.
Barry calls it “tactical stalling”. We call it “being smart.”
What’s Next
In the next few weeks, the demo will get updates with previews of new systems. We’re also working on:
A revamped Qualifications Board
More guides and tutorials for new mechanics
A redesigned Repair system with a skill-based mini-game
We’re also making many improvements behind the scenes as we prepare for release.
...not only money matters
