How RNG and Shooting Work in Warhounds
In Warhounds, shooting is not just “click and hit”.
Every shot is calculated separately, and RNG can help you - or create chaos.
🔫 Every bullet is a separate roll
Hit chance is calculated for each bullet individually.
When firing in bursts, all bullets except the first one get an accuracy penalty.
Example: if the base hit chance is 100% and the burst has three bullets, the chances are:
100% -> 90% -> 80%
🎯 A miss is still a bullet
If a bullet misses the target, it does not disappear.
It keeps flying along its path and can:
- explode a barrel
- hit another enemy
- or even hit an ally in the line of fire
Every shot can change the fight.
💥 Damage spread
Each bullet deals random damage within a set range.
For example, the starting rifle deals 1-2 damage per bullet.
If all three bullets hit, total damage can be from 3 to 6.
🩸 Critical hits and grazes
Critical hits and grazes are opposing mechanics.
- Target behind high cover? Even a successful hit may result in a graze, dealing the minimum possible damage.
- Target out of cover and within the weapon’s effective range? The chance of a critical hit becomes high.
A critical hit adds bonus damage on top of the weapon’s base damage - it’s not just a “pretty number.”
In Warhounds, there are no safe shots. Only decisions - and their consequences.
