🌊 V3.0 — The "River Rush" Update is Live!
Hey paddlers!
I am incredibly excited to drop Version 3.0, a massive milestone that completely reimagines how your kayak handles and brings the entire river to life. As a solo indie dev, this update represents a huge step forward in physics, true immersion, and stepping up the game's identity.
🚣 Next-Gen Kayak Physics: The Boat Feels Alive!
I have completely overhauled the hull physics and weight distribution to give you an authentic, responsive whitewater experience:
The "Paddle & Sway" System: Paddling now triggers a natural side-to-side body lean and hull rotation. The kayak moves organically with your character's weight, completely changing the feeling of the ride.
Aggressive Paddle Turning Boost: Dropping your paddle into the water now grants an immediate, physics-based turning torque in that direction. It feels twice as realistic and allows for razor-sharp maneuvers.
Upgraded Boofing Mechanics: I reworked the launching forces. Instead of jumping flat, the bow now lifts dynamically during a boof, allowing you to clear drops and rocks like a pro.
Expressive Celebrations: Your victory animations are now fully connected to the boat's physics. When your character celebrates and shifts weight, the kayak rocks and reacts dynamically.
🎮 Online Network Events & Performance Stress Test
Things are scaling up! I have increased the maximum server player capacity to prepare for larger multiplayer sessions.
HELP ME TEST THE SERVERS! I am planning to host a community test event online very soon. Grab your paddles, invite your friends, and come help me see how the server handles more players. I will announce the date and time right here on Steam, as well as on Facebook (Stout Kayak Game) and Reddit (r/StoutKayak), so stay tuned!
🎨 A Brand New Identity: Creekborn Games
You will notice a brand new Creekborn Games startup logo at launch. Having a proper studio intro is something I’ve wanted to add for a long time, and seeing it live fills me with pride. It finally gives the project the solid, professional identity it deserves.
See you on the rapids for the ultimate River Rush!
