Hello everyone, today's dev log focuses on Colonization and Economic Systems.
In 4X games, the economy serves as the foundation of civilizational development. It determines resource output and prosperity, underpinning all aspects of scientific research, military operations, and political maneuvering.
Finding a New Home
The Ark has left the Solar System behind, but resources are limited. You must locate a habitable planet and establish a colony to secure a new home for your people.Move your ship into orbit around a planet to open the colonization interface. Click "Colonize" to begin building your new settlement .
Managing Your Planet
The planetary management interface centers on tiles. The number of tiles determines building capacity, while tile types provide unique bonuses to structures and population. Some tiles initially appear as obstacles, occupying space without utility. However, clearing them can transform them into special tiles with valuable benefits.
Population and Resource Production
Buildings do not directly generate resources—they create population slots. Resources only begin flowing when these slots are filled by citizens. Thus, accelerating population growth is critical to economic expansion.
The Role of Space Outposts
Beyond planetary development, you can construct orbital outposts to automatically harvest space-based resources. These stations can also be upgraded to provide buffs to nearby ships.
The game is now live on Steam! We invite you to add it to your wishlist and stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes updates from the development team.
