Hello people of the Unseen!
It's now been a week since the release of Depths Unseen, and I think it's time to post the first Dev Dive!
These dives will be where I show off new areas, lore, characters, features, and even a neat fun fact about the game!
So, let's not waste anymore time, and let's make the dive!
CHAPTER SELECT
First and foremost, let's talk about Chapter Select!
Upon booting up Depths Unseen, you have three choices, Play, Settings, and Quit.
Pressing Play puts you at the start of Chapter I.
But in Chapter II, pressing play will bring up Chapter Select, and you'll be able to play any chapter, any time, regardless of if you've played any of the other ones!
You'll also be able to play from the beginning, or halfway, making it easier to play certain parts of the game.
Note: the image shown is a mock-up, it doesn't work just yet, but once it does, I'll be sure to show it off!
THE ADIT
Next up, I have a rough sketch of an area in Chapter II, The Adit!
Found deep within the dark Excavated Passages, this area will be where you'll encounter the first puzzle of the chapter, as well as some of that oh so juicy lore!
And no, you can't ride in the mine cart... yet.
FUN FACT
And to end off this dive, here's a fun fact about Depths Unseen!
Did you know:
Depths Unseen's stack of unused assets has 945 assets in it!
That's enough to make an entire game! But it's also more than enough for future dives!
And with that, this ends our first dive into the Unseen, tell me what you think down below!
See you next month, when cozy season arrives!
Have fun with Depths Unseen!
