Hey! 👋
Today we’re going to talk a bit about the early stages of character development in Sportia.
Every athlete starts long before animation, abilities or match logic.
They begin on paper.
Character development is where we explore proportions, silhouettes and body types that will later influence movement, readability and playstyle. At this stage, we’re not polishing, we’re defining the foundation.
These early “mugshots” help us test variation across humanoid builds, different physiques and non-human characters.
Body structure affects more than appearance. It impacts how an athlete occupies space, how they feel in motion and how clearly they read during fast-paced gameplay.
Arcade games depend on clarity. Strong silhouettes matter. ⚡
As development continues, these foundations evolve into fully playable characters with personality, abilities and presence inside the world of Sportia.
This is an early look at that process, we hope you enjoyed it.
More character reveals and gameplay breakdowns are coming as the game takes shape! 🏆
