I’m sure you know the feeling: You’re short on cash and get the urge to rob someone. You’ve come to the right place, I’ll show you how that would look like in Dicefall.
First, we click our victim and we can see that like many things you can do in Dicefall, pickpocketing is a skill check and has a difficulty.

Difficulty means: This value must be rolled at least(with a D20 die) in order to pick the man's pocket unnoticed. In this case, at least 6.
Now we can dare it:

We rolled a 13 which is more than the difficulty of 6, so it worked:

In principle, all skill checks in Dicefall work like this. Whether you try to persuade someone in dialogue, prove your strength, pick a lock, or examine the surroundings: there is always a difficulty that you have to overcome by rolling.
To gain an advantage, you can bind runes to your dice to improve them. But that’s a topic for another time.
