Hi everyone! As we near ever closer to live testing with all of you entering the Monte Quacko, we wanted to talk a bit about how we’re preparing for all of you.
Always Bet on Quack will launch with 32 player lobbies, making sure the space feels full without impacting performance. Knowing that there will be 32 players gives us the ability to build around that and make sure that a range of players from 1-32 will work with the space we have.
We built the main casino floor in a couple of ways. First, we wanted it to feel big, but not so big that you spend all your time waddling around the casino and not actually playing any of the games. However, it is still big enough so if you want to tuck away into a corner and play the slots for awhile with just you and some friends, that option is there too. This also works for the tables, we made sure the number of tables would not only make the casino feel alive, but give enough space that if players wanted to go find their own table, it would be much easier. At the same time, the busier tables will be the first things players run into, which will encourage more people to join those tables.
A full 32 player lobby would be able to fill out all spaces of the casino without feeling overcrowded. The NPC ducks are there to make the world feel alive so even if you’re the only player in the lobby the casino won’t feel empty. At the same time, if there are 32 players the casino has enough space for everyone to spread out and not be on top of each other.
