The Netherworld Chapter & the new character Zhu Bajie will arrive in the 15th-anniversary update!
"One afternoon before Qingming Festival, a torrential rain poured outside. Raindrops crackled against the windowpanes, drenching the entire city to the core.
Yet inside Dreaming Studio, an unusual calm prevailed. Only the crisp tapping of keyboards echoed beneath our fingers, forming a strange, harmonious counterpoint to the thunderstorm outdoors."
Let me see what everyone’s up to—huh? Our Dreaming Storyteller is hunched over his desk, developing a brand-new DLC for Dreaming Westward: Unrivaled!
And on the screen… it’s Zhu Bajie!?
Exactly. In 2026, as Dreaming Studio marks its 15th anniversary, the team behind Dreaming Westward: Unrivaled has decided to go further for this year’s Steam release.
In addition to the previously promised Netherworld content from Dreaming Westward 2: Ten Halls of Yama, we will be adding the playable character Zhu Bajie as an extra gift!
This all-new content will be released as a free DLC around the 15th-anniversary celebration, returning to meet all you immortals once again.
Reading your comments on Steam—hearing you speak of Dreaming Westward as an irreplaceable part of your childhood, and sharing your own unique stories with the series—has touched every member of the studio deeply.
The only way we can repay your sincerity is to refine our work until it brings you even greater joy, as a heartfelt thank-you for your genuine support.
For the 15th anniversary of Dreaming Westward, let’s make a pact:
Every single one of you—be there!
