Hey everyone!
This is our very first devlog for Camp Wombo, and we wanted to start by introducing one of the new dangers hiding in the forest.
What is Camp Wombo?
Camp Wombo is a co-op horror game where you and your friends go camping deep in the woods… until your car breaks down.
To escape, you’ll need to search the forest for parts while dealing with whatever is already living there.
And not everything in the forest is aggressive.
Some things are just… misunderstood.
🍄 Meet the Mushroom Man
At first glance, the Mushroom Man looks harmless.
A small, yellow mushroom creature. Slow. Quiet. Sad.
It wanders around the forest minding its own business, almost like it doesn’t belong there.
But getting close is a mistake.
When threatened, the Mushroom Man reveals its true nature, launching vine-like tendrils to attack anyone who comes too near.
What looks innocent can turn dangerous in seconds.
Why we added him
We wanted an enemy that:
Doesn’t attack immediately
Punishes curiosity and greed
Makes players second-guess “cute” things in horror games
The Mushroom Man is designed to create tension through uncertainty.
Do you risk getting closer… or leave him alone?
This is just one of many forest threats coming to Camp Wombo.
We’d love to hear your thoughts:
👉 Would you approach the Mushroom Man… or keep your distance?
