Key Changes Made:
New Features Added:
1. Waypoint Timeout Detection: Tracks how long the AI has been trying to reach the current waypoint
2. Off-Track Detection: If the AI doesn't reach a waypoint within 10 seconds and is far from it, it's considered off-track
3. Smart Repositioning:
• For stuck scenarios: repositions to current waypoint
• For missed waypoint scenarios: repositions to next waypoint and updates progress counters
Enhanced Logic:
1. Dual Monitoring: The script now monitors both movement (stuck detection) and waypoint progress (missed waypoint detection)
2. Distance Tolerance: Uses waypoint radius × 2 as tolerance to avoid false positives when AI is just moving slowly
3. Progress Tracking: Properly updates currentWaypointIndex, totalWaypointPassed, and lap counters when skipping waypoints
4. Better Debugging: More detailed log messages to help track what's happening
Performance Considerations:
• Both checks use separate intervals (0.5 seconds) to minimize performance impact
• Only performs expensive distance calculations when necessary
• Reuses existing waypoint data structures
This enhanced script will now handle both scenarios you described:
• Stuck for 10 seconds: Repositions to current waypoint
• Missing waypoint within 10 seconds: Repositions to next waypoint and updates progress
The AI cars should now be much more reliable at staying on track and continuing the race even when they encounter obstacles or navigation issues.
