Thank You to Fans
I never thought I'd make a demo so popular that strangers would clamor for the game's release for months! But that is exactly what has happened. To say I'm touched is an understatement. Thank you so much for not only trying the demo, but for reaching out to me through a variety of channels to say “I loved the demo, please finish the game and release it!” Don't worry, development has been going full steam ahead!
A Successful Steam Next Fest
Steam Next Fest (Oct 2025) was a wild success, with hundreds and hundreds of new wishlists gained, positive reviews gracing the demo page and other places, the whole nine yards. The demo made it to trending lists and total wishlists ended up quadrupling. I never thought this little game would make such a splash. Your feedback told me that I was on the right track, so I have been hard at work preparing Fortified Space for its Early Access release.
The Full Campaign is Complete
The game is now almost ready. The full campaign, which includes unique missions across various planets, is now complete. All I need to do is polish up the balance, add some music, embed the Steam Achievements, and playtest for bugs. The release will include the full campaign, and during the Early Access phase, I will continue adding features from my tentative roadmap (to be announced later) as I build it toward a full 1.0 release. There's a lot more I want to add beyond what you will see in Early Access.
In the coming weeks, I will periodically make posts about the new missions in the campaign and what unique mechanics they each have. While the core gameplay loop will continue to include space battles, building, and fighting, I had a lot of fun adding twists to what you already experienced in the demo.
Early Access Release Date & Pricing
My plan is to release Fortified Space into Early Access on Friday, March 27, 2026. I'm thinking of pricing the game at $3.99, but of course, the free demo will also continue to be available if that is what you prefer. Let me know if you have any thoughts on the tentative price!
