Thanks to Next Fest and Games Ground Berlin we gained a ton of great feedback, and while it's taken a while, the update is finally here!
Tutorial overhaul
We quickly came to realize that the on-boarding sequence wasn't doing a great job, and as a result it left a lot of you confused in the early stages of the game. To address this we have:
divided the tutorial into smaller lessons split over multiple levels.
decreased the amount of text
included reminders for important lessons further down the line.
This means that there are technically a few more levels in the demo!
More dogs!
There are way more dogs to choose from! More to come still, and feel free to reach out if you want a specific one to be added!
Improved animations & graphics
Some additional animations have been added to the game. This should make the cutscenes more interesting, and easier to understand.
Improved UI graphics has been implemented, to better highlight and convey important information. This has the added benefit of making things look a lot better too!
Removed Secondary Control Binding
The secondary control binding scheme has been removed. This prevents some bug-like scenarios and makes the whole experience much smoother.
This does mean that some of you will have to rebind your controls again.
Bug fixes
Amongst many small fixes:
The character no longer hits their head on an invisible roof when jumping while slowing down and turning around next to a wall.
Interaction icons now turn off reliably.
Control bindings now reset and rebind reliably.
Menu navigation should now be smoother.
The character will no longer do pull-ups when jumping up on the edge of a platform.
The character will now climb up platforms before failing if there's a trap above it. and more...
