2025 has been a tough year for many people in the game industry, and I felt that impact too.
But difficult years also open unexpected doors. While searching for work, I started building GRIEFS.xyz — and for the past 10 months, I’ve poured everything I have into it, often working 18‑hour days to bring this platform to life.
Despite the challenges, GRIEFS has grown more than I ever expected this year:
171 users
123 projects created
114 exports
Average usage time: 80 minutes/day
Seeing creators find real value in something I built from scratch means more than I can express. Helping people make better work, faster, is what drives this entire project.
In 2025, GRIEFS Texture Ripper became a tool for indie developers, architects, and aspiring game creators, turning almost any image into game‑ready PBR materials in seconds, with a fully non‑destructive workflow that keeps every step editable.
Under the hood, GRIEFS already includes instant PBR map generation with deep real‑time controls, a real‑time path tracer, perspective correction, inpainting, cloning, tiling, upscaling, atlas packing, and flexible export, all designed to accelerate the journey from a single source image to production‑ready assets.
In 2026, the journey continues — and expands.
Early in the year, we’re taking a major step forward with a planned Steam release in Q1 2026, making GRIEFS Texture Ripper easier to discover, access, and integrate into more pipelines than ever before.
There’s much more coming in the second half of 2026, this is still just the beginning. GRIEFS is growing, evolving, and becoming something bigger than a solo project. The foundation is here, and the future is wide open.
Life isn’t easy, especially nowadays. I hope you have someone around you who helps you keep your head up.
Thank you for being part of this journey, and here’s to a new year of creativity, progress, and building tools that empower artists everywhere.
