Hello, Operators, and welcome to the very first development diary for Container Terminal Simulator (CTS)!
In this devlog series we’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes stories, gameplay decisions, technical improvements, and future plans — everything that goes into building the railway terminal of our dreams. Our goal is not just to show progress, but to develop CTS together with the community from the very start.
What’s happening right now?
At this stage we’re finishing work on the core gameplay loop: receiving freight trains full of containers, distributing them across unloading zones, operating gantry cranes and yard trucks, then sending the cargo further by road transport. Every action you take impacts your profit, processing speed, and reputation among logistics clients.
In parallel we’re working on:
a complete economic system with tariffs, upgrades, equipment wear, downtime and contracts;
re-designing the UI for clarity and immersion;
adding a day/night cycle and dynamic soundtrack that reflects the rhythm of a busy rail terminal.
Why devlogs?
CTS is a project where realism, strategy and atmosphere are equally important. We’d love to involve you in the process — your feedback and wishlist directly influence what gets added, reworked or balanced.
In the next posts we’ll talk about:
container types and cargo behaviour,
yard planning tools,
and when you’ll be able to try the public Steam demo.
Thanks for joining us at this early stage — and please add CTS to your wishlist — that’s the best way to support us right now 💙
