Weekly Development Update #2
This weeks development update will be shorter than previous. Our efforts have been focused on server code but we did add other visual assets. Our 3d Modeler has added caves and skeletons.
Caves
We implemented caves to the main world, which can be found on the westward chain of islands. These caves will hold gold ore for players to farm. Loot such as weapons. blueprints, and resources can be found inside. The caves will also have the same skeletons that spawn on skull island.
Skeletons
Skeletons will function as another faction similar to the Redcoats or Spanish. They will occur within caves and on Skull island. Their attire shows they were former British Redcoats. Due to their anatomy and them being completely bone, bullets may not work well.
Server Code
Our server architect has continued to work without sleep to finish the server side physics. This has led to the completion of mapping the terrain so our physics controller collides with the terrain. This was the last of the server side physics. This means we can now work on other core game features such as resource collection and projectile systems.
