Hey everyone!
Today I’ve released a third smaller update, and together with the updates from the past few days, I wanted to bring everything into one clear announcement.
Over the last week, I introduced a new tutorial system to help players get accustomed to the menus, the core actions needed to begin building, and the differences between the game modes. This should make onboarding much smoother and create an even cosier experience for new players.
I also added partial controller support, which has been tested (primarily with Xbox controllers). You can now play comfortably with a controller in all sandbox modes as well as Hop Mode, offering a more relaxing way to enjoy the game. Controller support does not currently extend to the main menu, pause menu, or the final UI screen - these still require mouse and keyboard.
Finally, today’s update introduces achievements. These add more structure and objectives to sandbox modes like Start Fresh, Arran, and Skye. You can now earn achievements for things like placing 10 plots of land, placing nature tilesets, or growing your population. Hop Mode also includes achievements for completing islands objectives. In total, 17 achievements have been added to give players more goals and progression across all modes.
For now, these were all the planned updates for Tiny Terra Spaces. I may revisit the game in the future, but this set of updates addresses the main feedback around onboarding and providing more structure to sandbox play. I hope the tutorial and achievements help make the experience even more enjoyable.
Thank you to everyone playing, buying, and wishlisting the game - I truly appreciate your support.
See you in the next update.
