Leavers Rift 1.0: Out Now!
A Journey Ends, a New One Begins
A journey is only as meaningful as the community you share it with. While the Early Access of Leavers Rift may not have been a financial breakthrough, it was an experience I am deeply grateful for as a solo developer. Honestly, it might have been for the best. Processing feedback from thousands of players would have been a massive challenge for one person. Instead, the feedback from a small, dedicated community felt more like advice from friends. For that, I thank you!
Today, this specific journey ends, but a new one begins. Version 1.0 is officially finished. The corresponding patch went live yesterday, and the final content update was released in late December. So, feel free to scroll down past this post if you want to see the detailed changes.
Language Support
I completely reject the use of generative AI for moral reasons. Wolfhain does not support the use or training of generative AI in creative fields. For me, this includes translations. How can I put my name behind something if I cannot verify the quality of the translation myself due to a lack of language skills?
Therefore, Leavers Rift will currently only be available in English and German (my native language). Should the day come where the game generates enough of a budget, professional human translations will be integrated.
What's next?
Regardless of what happens from here on out: this has been a unique experience for me. Two years ago, I didn't think it was possible for me to develop a game of this scale.
There are definitely plans to develop further content after this release. But it's still too early to make any promises. Of course, you can expect bug fixing and balancing.
To everyone reading this: Thank you.
