Hola, ninjas!
September was sweaty, chaotic, and gloriou in all the right ways. We dropped our gameplay trailer, showed off new chaos (yes, including Shika Mala’s abs), and are now on the cusp of a world tour.
Here’s the rundown:
Gameplay Trailer
We finally dropped our official gameplay trailer, and dios mío, it’s packed!
Combos flying left and right, new moves flashing across the screen, and enough cinematic chaos to make you wonder if the controller is even ready for this.
Haven’t seen it yet? Pues… qué esperas, cabrón. 👀
New clips/screenshots
On top of that, we served up a feast of clips!
The boomerang sombrero making its grand debut!
Explosive piñatas turning fiestas into funerals!
Shika Mala flexing like it’s chest day!
A funky enemy scroller that reminds you just how many flacos want you dead. (Let us know who you got!)
Oh, and let’s not forget the reveal of the Nuevo Tokyo gods - deities with questionable taste but impeccable power.
Events
Events kept us busier than a Narkuza in a taco stand. We rolled through the Mexican Entertainment System and Six One Indie Showcase, slicing our way into the spotlight.
Thank you to both for featuring el ninja!
But unfortunately (for you), that's just the start, we got SOFA, LAGS Creator Fest, Bucharest Gaming Week and more ALL HAPPENING THIS MONTH!
Get ready for el ninja world takeover, one punch/event at a time.
Speaking of punches - our first closed playtest went live, and rebels like Enya, Leon, Nadine and others got their hands on the chaos. Feedback’s been awesome, and yes, we’re already sharpening those katanas for round two - which will happen sooner than you expect!
If you haven't gotten access, fret not, we might have some upcoming news (like tomorrow) about that. Keep your ojos open for noticias!
We even snuck into an interview with DevGodot, spilling secrets about design, lore, and why Nuevo Tokyo smells like gasoline and churros. Worth a read if you like peeking behind the curtain.
"Hey, I'm Dario, Creative Director of Mexican Ninja. Fun fact about me, I'm Mexican."
More Q&As on the way, let us know what you'd like to hear about! Gameplay, art, music, or just pure wey banter.
Not only that but we snuck the ninja into a little preview from both SavePoint Gaming and Vice! Check out their impressions below!

And of course… memes. We gave the humble grunt ninja his moment of glory, and you all ran with it. Keep posting your chaos in Discord, the more cursed, the better.
That’s September in a nutshell: sweaty, loud, and muy chingón.
October’s coming in hot, so sharpen those blades, charge your sombreros, and remember - wishlist Mexican Ninja, or risk a Narkuza gnawing on your toes while you sleep.
The button is right there, wey.
Stay sharp. Stay chaotic.
