From the Developer
This week's update brings a major new audio feature to PLAYNESE.
There are also many larger features currently completed, being tested, or actively in development, including the new JLPT N5–N1 Grammar Study Tool and JLPT N1 Q&A. These features will be implemented over the coming weeks.
NEW: JukeBox | Audio Player 🎧
A new Audio Player has been added to PLAYNESE!

The Audio Player lets you purchase, organize, and listen to Japanese songs, podcasts, and instrumental background music while you're playing, studying, or doing something else.
Currently available:
Purchase 46 Japanese songs from the Music Room
4 long background instrumental tracks
Purchase instrumental background music with no vocals
10-second demos before purchasing
Create your own playlists
Repeat the entire playlist, repeat forever, or repeat a single track
Shuffle mode
Add the same track multiple times
See your total playlist time
Volume controls
Progress bar showing how far you are through a track
Show or hide the currently playing track HUD
Music fades when talking to NPCs
NPC voices and environmental sounds continue normally while listening
Other game BGM is mostly ignored while the player is using the Audio Player, making it work almost like a headset
See how many times a track has been added to your playlist
Play Your Own Audio
You can also drag and drop audio files from your PC into the player and add them to your playlist.
The player reads the files directly from the folder they came from, so don't move or rename the original folder/file after adding it, or it may no longer play.
Previous Jukebox Music
Songs that were previously available through the jukebox can now be unlocked in the Instrumentals tab.
When leaving the room, the jukebox will turn off, but your purchased tracks and playlists are saved.
Podcasts Coming Later
The Podcast section is now available, but there are currently no podcasts to purchase.
Japanese talks and other audio learning materials will be added here in future updates.
Note: After the update I forgot to add a "Delete" button in the latest build to the tracks you have manually added, coming in next week's update. Please let me know if you'd like more to be added as I'm actively working on the system.
Main Menu Themes 🎵
A new Main Menu theme and song was added during a mid-week update.
The song now displays its lyrics on screen while playing.
Main Menu songs will eventually be replaced with new songs. When a song is replaced, it will be moved to the Music Room, where players will be able to unlock it along with its lyrics and meanings.
Music Room
Two new songs have been added to the Music Room:
1. 俺は神だ = おれ は かみ だ = I'm a god
2. ひらがなの歌 = ひらがな の うた = Hiragana Song
The Hiragana Song is now also available in the Music Room as it was only previously on the Jukebox.
Library Room
The Bible: Deuteronomy
Hundreds of new translated sentences have been added for the complete Book of Deuteronomy.
What's Coming Next?
A lot of larger features are currently in the works or being prepared for implementation.
