Thank you for playing the demo :)
Here's what's changed in update 1.0.1:
Performance Improvements
Sweeping performance improvements across the board. The game is benchmarking much better now, especially on AMD processors. The main menu lag is mostly fixed, and the in-game performance will be starkly different. I appreciate your patience if you had issues with this in the past.
Quality of Life Changes
- Added a recommendation system to the building project to point new players in the right direction
- Added a warning when closing the technology tree menu without selecting a research project
- Added a warning when trying to construct a building that has no valid placement in the city (e.g. due to lack of required resources to build on)
- Added a link to a detailed tutorial video in the top right corner of the screen for players who are confused after the tutorial
- Added additional tutorialization for the auctioneer menu, combat, and the main tutorial
- Improved clarity in many places in menus
- Added tooltips to many buttons and widgets that previously didn't have them
Bug Fixes
Fixed a plethora of small and large bugs, including but not limited to:
- Fixed a bug that prevented units from receiving experience points from combat
- Fixed an issue with the production menu not displaying
- Fixed a bug where cards that created Smack cards were creating regular attack cards instead
- Fixed an issue where All Nighter was granting the wrong amount of science
- Fixed a problem where canceling a move or attack card that was not a basic move or attack would grant a basic move or attack card instead of the correct card
- Fixed an issue where archers couldn't attack from melee range
- Fixed a bug that prevented tutorial skipping.
- Fixed an issue where the volume slider was not persisting between the main menu and in-game settings menu
- Fixed visual bugs in many places, including the main menu and in-game when cities were
- Fixed a bug that was incorrectly displaying unit experience points in the unit inspector
- And more...
Balance Changes
- All Nighter now grants 2x (building count) instead of 3x.
- All cities grant 1 growth and 1 production each turn passively. Production costs and growth level requirements were increased across the board to compensate
- Basic archers have reduced combat power
- Scavengers have reduced combat power
Thank you so much for playing. I'm just one dude trying to make a 4X game I would want to play. Your support means the world <3
