Instant Catch-Up
You know that feeling when you join an artist who's already been creating for a while and you wished to see some of the strokes? Yeah, we hated that too. Now the app auto-replays the last few strokes when you connect so you see where they're at immediately. Just re-click their card to see if that have strokes for you to pull.
We figured out how to only download the strokes you actually missed instead of... everything. Again. Your internet bill can thank us later (90-99% less network usage on reconnects). Oh, and reconnections are absurdly faster now - like 10-100x faster.
Artist Catalog
Our artist catalog will update with more artists once our existing artists get access to our new plugin that can talk to our upgraded SuprCanvas v4. Once they send a single update, they will update to your app catalog. Look for more artists in the coming weeks as we roll out approved plugins.
It's Fast Now. Like, Really Fast.
Remember how the app would occasionally freeze for half a second when new artwork came in? We got obsessed with fixing that. Went down a rabbit hole. Discovered some things. Long story short:
UI response is 20-30x faster (was freezing for 350-600ms, now barely 10-20ms)
Total processing is 7-12x faster (350-600ms down to 30-50ms)
Everything stays buttery smooth while you're watching artists create
The app just feels different now. Smoother. More responsive. The way it should have been from the start, honestly.
Image Quality Upgrade
We weren't entirely happy with how wallpapers looked, so we went back to the drawing board. Now they're:
Perfect quality while lightning fast.
Perfect color accuracy with proper transparency
Zero compression artifacts (what the artist creates is exactly what you see)
Experimental so strokes might not come in the correct order(rare). This isn't the app's fault but our experimental plugins.
Password Reset (Finally)
Can't believe we shipped without this. If you forget your password, you can actually reset it now. Revolutionary, I know. Also simplified signup to one step, fixed that weird bug where the app thought you logged out when you didn't, and generally made the whole sign in experience less confusing.
Behind the Scenes
This is the nerdy stuff, but it matters:
Completely rebuilt the backend infrastructure
Switched to real-time connections instead of constantly asking "got anything new? got anything new?"
Unified authentication across all our platforms
Built a smarter notification system with intelligent caching
Eliminated some dependencies we didn't need
Basically, we future-proofed everything. Version 4.0 felt appropriate. Also it matches our SuprCanvas versioning.
