Hello explorers!
Today is a monumental day. I am extremely excited to announce that the game is officially participating in the Steam Bullet Fest! If you are just arriving because of the festival, welcome to the unwanted dungeon! This is the absolute perfect time to begin your journey: the game is more dynamic, challenging, and rewarding than ever.
And to celebrate the start of the festival, a massive content update has been prepared, filled with new features, high-risk mechanics, brand-new treasures, and a flood of new Steam achievements.
🏛️ The Altar of Challenge!
How much is a high-rarity item worth? The Altar of Challenge has just been discovered in the depths!
How it works: During your runs, common rooms now have a considerable chance of spawning the Altar of Challenge right in the center of the map.
The Pact: The altar immediately offers a higher rarity item... but in exchange for a voluntary and brutal challenge that you must complete before you can clear the room.
Complete the challenge and reap rewards worthy of a hapless explorer!
More Scenarios and Modules
To make semi-procedural exploration even more alive, immersive, and surprising, new scenario modules have been added. As you walk through the dungeon, you will find new corridor designs, revamped walls, towering pillars, and unprecedented treasure hideouts. Every run will feel like a new discovery!
💀 New Objectives and Curses!
Fate has become even more unpredictable. New dynamics will now appear in your Fate Cards:
New Room Objectives
Collector: Greed speaks louder! Collect a specific amount of coins to seal and complete the room.
Evil Runes: Ancient runes will appear on the map. You will need to approach and activate them... but be prepared, as massive hordes will try to destroy you!
🗿 Cursed Statue: A profane structure appears with a single purpose: to destroy you. Your objective? Destroy it first!
Expanded Curse System
No less than 11 New Curses have been added that can appear in the fate cards! The risk has increased, but so have the rewards:
5 Negative Curses: To test the limits of your survival.
1 Neutral Curse: An unexpected twist in gameplay.
5 High Risk / High Reward Curses: For those who like to play on the edge and be generously rewarded for it!
🏆 New Treasures
New treasures have been added to create devastating synergies in your gameplay:
Fossilized Wrath: Shoots a devastating lightning bolt in the direction you are facing.
Hexed Scythe: Throws four slicing projectiles diagonally.
Whispering Notebook: A mystical projectile that travels randomly, clearing the map.
Purifier: Conjures a divine rain that hits the entire screen.
Crimson Compass: Summons an overwhelming pillar of fire.
Fire Staff of Protection: Conjures a protective ring of flames around you.
Tormented Wings: Creates a hurricane that pushes and repels threats.
Guardian's Horn: Summons a powerful allied Golem! (This is a sneak peek of a brand-new companion mechanic that will be fully explored in our next major update in June!)
Design Note: To make items more desirable and unique, all treasures now only exist in specific rarities. This prevents them from cluttering the drop pool for other essential categories like equipment.
🍷 New Potions
The Transient Merchant brought smuggled goods straight from the alchemy underworld. Introducing brand-new potions with highly relevant permanent attributes to change the course of your build:
Redroot Distillate: +10% permanent current Damage.
Medicinal Herbal Oil: +8% permanent current Max Health.
Stimulant Brew: +10% permanent Movement Speed.
Hemotoxic Mixture: +1% Execution.
Effervescent Potion: +4% Haste.
Lucky Drop: +4% Critical Chance.
Potion of Fulfillment: Instantly completes the Altar of Challenge, releasing the reward with no risks!
Changes to the Merchant's Shop
Due to the massive power of these new potions, their base price has been slightly increased.
Additionally, the Merchant's stock has become more unpredictable: before, he always guaranteed two potions; now, they have a chance to appear or not in the shop. (Oh, and the Purification Potion can now appear for sale without any special conditions... keep an eye out, as it is tied to a great secret!).
Some of the Merchant's older potions now also drop directly from consumable bags in the dungeon!
👑 22 New Steam Achievements
Attention, achievement hunters! 22 New Steam Achievements have been added for you to unlock. There are challenges for all playstyles, from defeating bosses without taking damage to reaching very high levels. Furthermore, all achievements have been translated into all supported languages! 🥳
Along with the achievements, the Steam Stats system has been implemented. Now you can track the progress bar of each achievement in real time directly on your profile!
SPOILER: Give it your best in every run starting today! Your stats are already being saved in the background, and in our next major update, the Official Leaderboard will be available to rank the best players in the world!
