Weekly Changelog: v0.107
A lot of progress has been made again this week toward the Early Access release in Q1 2026!
I also uploaded a new version of the demo with the following improvements and fixes:
-Added up and down wobble effect when swimming to make it feel more like real life underwater movement
-Added longer swim speed deceleration when releasing the movement keys underwater
-Also made the player wobble up and down when swimming at the water surface
-Lowered player height when swimming at the surface of the water
-Added sounds when the player swims at the surface of the water
-Added an accessibility option to disable the new water movement wobble effects for those who prefer to play without them
-Added ambient air bubbles VFX to all underwater environments
-Improved arm model analysis animation to make it more dynamic once an object analysis has started
-Made underwater colors and lighting more vibrant
-Made the underwater seafloor much less "shiny" when near it and have it better match the general light intensity
-Improved the visuals and timing of how the in-game camera adapts to light intensity changes, like our eyes would when entering or exiting a bright room
-Made gear equipable with a single click from the inventory menu to the correct equipment slot
-Increased many fish collider sizes to make them easier to catch now that they swim away
-Updated the start menu game logo to make it more dynamic with an attached sea creature visual
-Moved the start menu game logo to the left side of the screen to make the start screen environment more visible
-Removed some text from the start menu as it was a bit crowded
-Kept run speed active while in mid-air during a jump even if the run key is released
-Added a visual icon that shows when the player is encumbered, in addition to the text warning
-Prevented the player from jumping on land if encumbered
-Reduced the size of the red glowing plants in the shallow waters, as the plant is a bit too low-poly to be that large
-Improved how UI visuals are handled under the hood to increase FPS
-Improved how mouse and gamepad cursors switch when control mode is changed or when both are used at the same time
-Bug fix: Corrected rare situations where an equipment piece would disappear during equipment swaps
-Bug fix: Prevented discarding the backpack if there isn’t enough room for the new inventory size
Thanks so much again for your interest in Sinking Eternity!
