Heya, fellow pilots!
We finally defeated the last show-stopper bugs and rolled out the first alpha of Junkyard Space Agency on itch.io.
Why there? 'coz it's far from being what we envisioned for the game, but it's already a lot of fun to try out!
What's in the build:
The "Junkyard" - an asteroid, once used as a waste processing facility. That's your home and your space base.
Realistic spaceflight and orbital mechanics. You thought you knew how to pilot spaceships? Let's plug in real physics and try out again.
The "Venture". Your scrappy spaceship, built from what's salvaged and repurposed. Beer kegs? Those are your tanks. Cardboard? Good insulation for the hull. And those BBQ gas bottles are OK for storing pressurized helium.
IVA. Real pilots need to feel the machine. Pilot from inside a fully interactive cockpit. Switches, knobs, levers, buttons, you gotta learn them. No fancy HUDs and overlays - you read gauges and analog indicators.
Tutorial Mode. Realistic spaceflight ain't easy, but here's your certified pilot program. After completing the tutorial, your application to NASA astronaut corps gets much higher chances of success.
Multiplayer. Currently, only on self-hosted servers, but you already can rendezvous and dock with friends online!
This is our first and very important milestone, and we're excited to hear back from you. The game has been in development for quite some time now, and there's a long-read about it in the announce post on our blog.
