Happy New Year, folks, it’s time for our next Good Boy update!
We’ve got a smaller update for you all this time; it has been a holiday-filled last couple of weeks after all.
But that said, 2026 does bring with it at least a couple of new additions to kick off the new year.
THE COFFEE SHOP
First off, we’re excited to present a new heist–the Coffee Shop! Sneak in, grab some pastries, enjoy the cozy sound of rain beating on the windows outside while you pilfer everything in sight. It’s a smaller, frantic map… especially once Good Boy shows up... Let us know what you think!
The Coffee Shop is also intended to add a bit more variety to the early game for folks and present another fast in/out heist early on for players. Thanks to everyone who offered that feedback, or for those of you who streamed the game or made YouTube videos; seeing how folks experience our work has been supremely revealing, and helps us steer development!
THE GOOSE MONSTROSITY
Also, newly added is the first draft of the Goose monster! This thing is terrifying. It doesn’t care about you so much, though; it just likes to chomp on all the scenery. We’ll be continuing to refine him over the coming updates, but for now maybe just stay out of his way and you’ll be fine. Maybe.
THROWING
Actually, you could try throwing something at it, because we now have throwing implemented into the game too (default button: R). Throwing things is a good way to ruin some valuable loot, but also maybe hurt some enemies. Or each other. Do with that what you will!
OTHER STUFF
Of course, that’s not all. We’ve also got the regular assortment of new cosmetic options, bug fixes and polish items added; Good Boy can’t jump into the van anymore (...mostly), navmesh weirdnesses continue to be smoothed out (bit by bit), and we continued refining item tags, weights, and values (endlessly). We also tuned objectives a bit, like removing “No Dead Crew Member” from ever being a required objective, and added some new objectives based around breaking things. And, of course, we chip away at bugs and quality of life things (added a toggle option for crouch, cleaned up the key binding menu a bit more, etc.) a little every update.
There are also a few known issues we are working on that we should point out: If enter the mouse's vacuum effect as a spectator you could get launched very slowly into space (huh?). Also, it seems like sometimes performance presets (Epic/High/Med. etc) aren't being set correctly.. And, hilariously, you do happen to kill the Hamster, it rolls along as a flesh-mass endlessly. May it roll endlessly into your nightmares like it has with ours. Happy New Year!
Our next update should be closer to the end of the month… Wish us luck!
