Greetings Legends,
As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, LEGEND BATTLES stands at the forefront of next-gen multiplayer experiences. Combining the best of cloud infrastructure, real-time rendering technology, and AI-powered performance optimization, LEGEND BATTLES is more than just a game— it’s an immersive, high-performance, hyper-realistic, large-scale world of 400 km2 with hundreds of megacities whose thousands of buildings all have interiors, thus setting a new standard for online multiplayer Battle Royale gaming apps.
We are thrilled to share an in-depth look into the powerful technologies behind LEGEND BATTLES, and how cutting-edge technologies from AWS GameLift, Epic Online Services, Unreal Engine 5.6, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 (optional) come together to offer players a rich, dynamic, and seamless next generation multiplayer gameplay.
AWS GameLift: Scalable and Resilient Multiplayer Infrastructure
Behind the seamless, low-latency multiplayer experience in LEGEND BATTLES is AWS GameLift—Amazon Web Services' flagship tool for deploying multiplayer games at scale. As we’ve developed LEGEND BATTLES, we’ve relied on AWS GameLift to provide the best possible service for players around the world:
Global Coverage: AWS’s infrastructure spans across multiple continents, allowing LEGEND BATTLES to deliver near-instantaneous connection times regardless of where players are located. Whether you're in North America, Europe, Asia, or beyond, you’ll experience smooth, fast gameplay.
Low Latency and Responsiveness: One of the biggest challenges for online multiplayer games is ensuring low latency, especially as the player base grows. AWS GameLift minimizes lag by automatically routing players to the nearest available game servers. This means that no matter where your battle takes you, the experience remains fluid and responsive.
Predictive Autoscaling: One of the standout features of AWS GameLift is its predictive autoscaling. Using machine learning, GameLift forecasts player demand and dynamically adjusts server capacity in real time. When thousands of players suddenly flood into the game for a major update, GameLift ensures that servers scale up efficiently, maintaining a consistent experience even during peak hours. When traffic dips, GameLift automatically scales down, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and that costs are kept under control.
Flexible Matchmaking: For LEGEND BATTLES, matchmaking is key to ensuring every player is placed in a fair, challenging match. Using FlexMatch, GameLift handles complex matchmaking by taking into account multiple factors: player skill, location, playstyle, and even ping times. This guarantees that each match is well-balanced and optimized for the most enjoyable experience.
AWS GameLift provides the robust backbone necessary to host LEGEND BATTLES’ worldwide multiplayer battles—scaling dynamically, ensuring low-latency, and creating fair matchmaking that caters to every type of player.
Epic Online Services: Communication and Fair Play in Cross-Platform Multiplayer
In LEGEND BATTLES, we understand that communication is crucial to success, whether you're coordinating with a team or trying to outwit your opponents. That’s why we’ve integrated Epic Online Services (EOS)—a suite of powerful tools that enhance player interaction, ensure fair play, and simplify cross-platform connectivity:
Cross-Platform Voice Chat: The ability to communicate with teammates is essential in any multiplayer game. EOS provides a fully integrated voice chat system that works across all platforms, from PC to consoles (console apps are not implemented yet). Players can easily connect with their squadmates for coordinated gameplay without the need for third-party apps or services. Whether you’re on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, the voice chat system ensures your communication is always seamless and high-quality.
Easy Anti-Cheat: Maintaining the integrity of every match is crucial in competitive games. That’s why LEGEND BATTLES uses Easy Anti-Cheat from Epic Games. With this robust anti-cheat system, we can prevent common forms of cheating, such as aimbots, wallhacks, and exploits, ensuring that every match is fair and competitive. Easy Anti-Cheat is already a trusted tool used in many top-tier competitive games, making it an ideal choice for LEGEND BATTLES.
Together, Epic Online Services brings players closer through crystal-clear voice chat, while ensuring that everyone has a fair and balanced playing field.
Unreal Engine 5.6: The Next Generation of Gaming Visuals and Physics
When it comes to bringing the 400 km2 world of LEGEND BATTLES to life, Unreal Engine 5.6 is the engine that powers our stunning visuals and complex game mechanics. The combination of advanced rendering techniques, dynamic environments, and immersive physics makes the world of LEGEND BATTLES feel alive and responsive:
World Partition: The massive, open-world maps in LEGEND BATTLES are made possible by World Partition, a feature that automatically loads and streams only the necessary portions of the world. This allows players to traverse vast landscapes—up to 400 km²—without the need for loading screens. Whether you're fighting in a bustling city or scaling a rugged mountain range, the environment is always ready for exploration.
It's important to remember that the Legend Battles team has a proven track record in creating expansive, detailed 3D environments. Their previous 3D world map and navigation app ranked #3 in China on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. With this experience in handling large-scale, immersive worlds, a 400 km² map is well within their expertise.
MetaHumans: Characters in LEGEND BATTLES are crafted using MetaHumans, a revolutionary framework by Epic Games that enables the creation of ultra-realistic human characters. With MetaHumans, we’re able to create stunningly detailed characters that feature advanced facial animations (available later), natural expressions, and highly accurate skin and hair textures with millions of interchangeable clothes.
Lumen Global Illumination: Lighting plays a pivotal role in immersion, and with Lumen, Unreal Engine 5.6 delivers dynamic global illumination. Real-time lighting reacts to everything from time of day to player actions. If you shoot out a light in a dark cave or ignite a fire on the battlefield, you’ll see realistic reflections and shadows dynamically interact with the world.
Nanite Virtualized Geometry: The Nanite technology allows us to use incredibly detailed assets—such as complex textures, geometric structures, and massive environments—without sacrificing performance. This makes it possible to deliver truly cinematic visuals with no compromise on frame rates, creating a sense of scale and realism that’s never been possible before.
Chaos Physics creates a dynamic, destructible world where fences collapse, windows shatter, doors are smashed, balusters crumble, and each explosion reshapes the environment. Vehicles lose their bumpers, doors, hoods, trunks, wheels explode, windows fly apart, windshields shatter, the engine and fuel tank catch fire from gunfire and then explode. The Cloth Simulation makes capes, banners, and robes ripple and react to movement and wind, adding realism to characters’ attire. Hair and Fur respond to movement and environmental forces, creating lifelike, fluid animation for both characters and creatures.
MetaSounds powers the game to deliver dynamic and contextual sound that adapts to player actions and environmental changes, ensuring a truly immersive experience. Every element—from physical reactions to soundscapes—brings the world of LEGEND BATTLES to life.
With Unreal Engine 5.6, we’ve created a world that is not only visually stunning but also reactive and engaging in ways never seen before in multiplayer games.
NVIDIA DLSS 4: AI-Enhanced Graphics and Performance (optional)
To ensure that LEGEND BATTLES not only looks great but plays smoothly at the highest frame rates, we’ve integrated NVIDIA DLSS 4 for NVIDIA RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 series GPUs. This AI-powered upscaling technology provides a performance boost while maintaining ultra-high image quality, making it ideal for high-resolution gaming:
Multi-Frame Generation: DLSS 4 introduces a breakthrough Multi-Frame Generation feature, where the AI generates additional frames between rendered ones, boosting performance by up to 8×. This allows LEGEND BATTLES to run smoothly at higher resolutions (including 4K) without a hit to visual quality, making high-end, ray-traced experiences more accessible to players with demanding setups.
Ray Tracing at High Frame Rates: DLSS 4 works in tandem with real-time ray tracing to offer stunning reflections, lighting, and shadows—while maintaining a consistent frame rate. Whether you’re battling in a detailed environment or zooming across a huge map, DLSS ensures that you never compromise on visual quality or performance.
AI Motion Clarity and Ghosting Reduction: The AI-powered motion clarity in DLSS 4 ensures that fast-moving objects, such as characters, vehicles, and projectiles, remain crisp and clear even at high speeds. It effectively reduces ghosting and blurring, ensuring that players experience smooth, immersive action.
Optimized Memory Usage: DLSS 4 reduces GPU memory consumption by up to 30%, allowing for higher-resolution textures, more on-screen entities, and expansive draw distances—ideal for large-scale battles like LEGEND BATTLES.
With DLSS 4, we can deliver high-quality visuals without sacrificing gameplay performance—giving players the best of both worlds and it’s optional.
