Hello again!
It's been too long since the last update and I must again apologize for being behind schedule, but much progress has been made and this time I come bearing gifts! If you're reading this, hopefully it's because you're one of those that have wish-listed and have been patiently waiting for something to play or at least see, because I can now give you and just a couple dozen other folks a FREE PRODUCT KEY for early Early Access to the game!
To request a key, just head over to https://www.buzzbeegames.com/freechokur and use the form to submit your email address and after I've collected enough requests, I'll randomly select 25 to receive a key. The provided email address can be a disposable address/alias, but maintain access to it until this event is over because if you're selected, then the key will be sent to that address from the buzzbeegames.com domain.
As for the progress made since the last update, here are the highlights:
- All 130 effect cards are now available for play... lots of fun!
- A customizable AI (computer opponent) system has been implemented that could one day be exposed to players so they can create their own AI profiles, but for now this system remains behind the scenes. Currently, difficulty levels 0-2 are available for play, with levels 3-4 coming in the near future. Level 4 may avoid using this system entirely, or almost entirely, as it could be trained via machine learning techniques and only fallback to the other system if it hallucinates an illegal move, etc.
- All environments (except The Void) have ambient sounds and various sound effects have been added throughout the game. Many sounds are still not yet implemented but at least things aren't quiet anymore!
- An additional camera angle has been added that is in between the default one and the top-down, orthographic one. So now there are two 3D views at 65/80 degrees and the 90 degree 2D view. By default, the C key changes the camera view temporarily or you can set the default view in the options menu.
Focus will soon shift entirely to the singleplayer campaign mode, which adds deck customization and card upgrades into the mix! Unfortunately for this game, but fortunately for my bank account, I must now spend some time on another project. For those of you with early Early Access to the game, I'll still be available to address any questions/comments via the email address that sent you the key.
Thanks again for your patience!
