Alright, time to take another experimental update out of the oven, and move it over to the live branch. This week we have a bunch of balance changes, a new and more effective set of tutorials and more.
So let's dig in and start with the new combat balance changes. We’ve taken the time to make some major changes to weapon balance now that we have the majority of ship weapons in the game. First up we have:
- Changes to armor generators - They have a boot up time when you activate them, this makes it so you can't stack armor generators by using them in tandem and swapping them out when needed. Armor generators have also received a buff, check the patch notes for full details
- We’ve overhauled the entire ship disabling system. When a ship loses all of its armor the ship is considered disabled and cannot move anymore until the armor generator repairs the hull. This was done to encourage boarding enemy ships rather than outright destroying them.
- Hacking through shields is no longer possible you will need to take them down in order to make a connection. However you will still be able to pull other ships out of warp through hacking, and shields now have a longer downtime to give you a window of opportunity.
- In addition to these changes we have made a lot of changes to weapon damage values check out the patch notes for full details

Next up we’ve added a range of new tutorials to replace the old one. You will find we've broken the tutorials up into smaller chunks that will be easier for people to learn the stuff they want to learn, rather than be pushed through an extended tutorial that covers everything.
There are now tutorials for trading, combat building etc.
We've also updated the warp shader, and added an effect when the ship is charging warp.

For all other things in the patch, please see the details in the patch notes linked below.
As always, we’d appreciate any feedback you’re willing to provide, it will only help us make the game better. We have a fairly busy discord server which you can join!
Feel free to drop by and have a chat, we’d love to hear your opinion and feedback!
Thank you all for playing and see you star side!
