Today we bring you another update, delivering the much anticipated private ship storage devices as well as a new permission option that allows your crew/fleet mates to modify your ship if you desire.
In the ship editor you will find a new device called the private ship storage, these devices will allow you to store one ship of 250,000 mass or lower inside another ship, allowing for carrier operations.
The mass of this stored ship will be added to the total mass of the carrier ship, so don’t forget to add some more maneuvering thrusters and engines if you’re going to carry a heavy ship. But be careful: if the carrier ship is destroyed, everything on board will be destroyed as well, meaning the stored ship will not survive.

The act of storing a ship will have a one-time power cost associated with it relative to the size of the ship that's being stored. Though a single storage unit can only hold one ship, players can put multiple storage units on board a ship.
Additionally, we have limited the store-o-tron’s storage capacity to 10 million mass. This is per location, so if you want to store more ships, you will have to transfer them to different stations. If you already have over 10 million mass worth of stored ships, do not worry, you will still be able to take the ships out, however, you can’t put them back in while you’re over the limit.

In this patch, we are also allowing players who have “manage” permissions aboard a ship to make modifications to the ship, so no more waiting for the ship’s owner to be online. You can set these permissions in the same way as all the other permissions by using the GRIP while on board a ship.
We have also been doing a lot of work under the hood to attempt to get performance under control. And we’ve made some strides in that department, and, if all goes well, you should see higher and more stable frame rates.
Thank you all for playing and see you star side!
