We apologize for the long wait! After a long period of development, we have finally released the first gameplay test build of the fifth pre-release version of Site Frostfall! The main updates in this version focus on networking. Many people have been asking us when they can set up a server, and now I can confidently tell you that you can do it now! You simply need to download the corresponding game server from our official test group, double-click "SiteFrostfall.exe," and the server will start! Your server will also automatically appear in the server list.
The following are the main updates:
1. The control panel has been completely redesigned.
The console, which was one of the first features added to the game, has gone through several iterations, and today we have completely redesigned it. The new console is highly efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
2. Server List
The server list, a core feature of the game, took a long time to develop, but it's finally complete! Currently, we are not performing any validation on the servers; any server (including host mode) will automatically be added to the list upon startup. This is primarily for base testing during the testing phase, ensuring a large number of servers are available for better game testing.
3. Player List
The player list is a feature we've been planning for a long time, and we've finally revamped it! It's now available for use.
4. Significant performance improvements and map size reduction.
Since this is a testing phase, we are focusing our development efforts on the core gameplay content. We will gradually expand the map in subsequent versions! We have also optimized performance.
5. Other Update
Added footsteps sounds
Readjusted lighting
Rewrote the version system
Fixed a bug where the game would launch a game from the Steam library when started outside of Steam.
Integrated SteamAppId
Added connection to the central server
Thank you very much for your understanding! Your support is our motivation to continue.
